To setup a dial-up connection on windows ME, you first need to access the "Dial Up Networking" folder. The easiest way to do this is to click the "Start" button and then click on "Dial-Up Networking" under the Settings sub-menu.
Next, double click on the "Make New Connection" icon to start the connection wizard.
In the first text box, type a name for the connection, the name itself isn't important but it should be meaningful.
Type our dialup number in the box, for Fire to Wire users in the Modesto area the one shown should work. If that number is not local try one of these.
Finally, set the connection to default.
Right click on the connection you just made and click on "Set As Default."
You should have a small blue check on the icon indicating that it is the default.
